Hello, my name is Ben. I'm currently an intern at Sunnydale Memorial Hospital. My dream has always been to be a doctor, so I can help people.

I'm somewhat new to Sunnydale. Me and my sister recently moved to town. From what I've seen of the people in Sunnydale so far, they can clearly use all the help they can get. And clearly being a doctor in Sunnydale will never be boring for sure.

Background History

Benjamin H. Wilkinson. (Played by Charlie Weber). Benjamin was an intern at Sunnydale Memorial also known as “Ben.” From the moment Ben was born in 1976 he had the Hell God Glorificus, who had been forced out of her own dimension, buried within him. Over time however she learned to emerge, and replace Ben. However the transformations never lasted and anyone who witnessed them would always forget. Nevertheless, Ben could not help but feel responsible over Glory’s actions and took a job at Sunnydale Memorial as an intern to help save lives and be close to people.(“Blood Ties” [BTVS]).

In 2000, Ben treated Joyce Summers who after fainting had been brought in by her daughter Dawn Summers.(“Out of My Mind” [BTVS]).

Later, while getting changed in the hospital a few weeks after, Ben was almost killed by a Lei-Ach Demon, however he turned into Glory in time to be saved by her. Glory then told the demon to gather other demons and go off and try too kill the Slayer.(“Family” [BTVS]).

When Joyce was readmitted a few weeks later, Ben comforted her daughter Slayer Buffy Anne Summers who was facing questions from an emotionally detached Dr. Isaacs until Ben told him he was needed in ICU.(“Shadow” [BTVS]).

Glory continued to wreak havoc in Sunnydale, California, turning more and more people insane as she ate the sanity of people to maintain her own sanity. Like Ben had done the rest of his life, he felt obligated to clean up her mess and as such summoned a Queller Demon, which killed insane people. It was soon defeated by Buffy when it tried to kill Joyce and following that Ben was confronted by Dreg, one of Glory's minions, who wanted to find out what Ben had aimed to accomplish.(“Listening to Fear” [BTVS]).

At the beginning of 2001, Jinx, Glory's top minion, approached Ben at the hospital requesting to know where Buffy lived and who her friends were, in the meantime informing Ben that Buffy was the Slayer. Ben refused to tell Jinx anything and beat him up, sending him back to Glory beaten and battered.(“Checkpoint” [BTVS]).

Jinx approached Ben once again, and offered him another chance to join Glory. He refused though and later found Dawn at the hospital, however when he learned she was the Key he told her to leave, but before she did he turned into Glory leaving Dawn not remembering the transformation.(“Blood Ties” [BTVS]).

Buffy, not knowing Ben had turned into Glory, later thanked him while at the Bronze.(“Crush” [BTVS]). Ben was attracted to Buffy, and asked her to go out for a coffee with him when the two met a week or so later at the Spring Break Party. Buffy was distracted with so many problems with her mother and Dawn, so phoned him up to say she would not be able to go, however Glory and Jinx heard the message leading them to believe he was working against her by wanting to go out with the Slayer.(“I Was Made to Love You”[BTVS]).

Jinx later confronted Ben, who refused to help Glory yet again. Yet, during the course of the confrontation he let slip that the Key was a human and despite stabbing Jinx in the hope he would not go and tell Glory, the minion was restored to life via magick, and relayed the information he had discovered.(“Forever” [BTVS]).

After having spent two weeks as Glory, Ben was fired from his job at Sunnydale Memorial by Dr. McCarthy, leaving him resenting Glory more than ever.(“Tough Love” [BTVS]).

Despite having been fired, Ben was later called on by Buffy for his medical skills when Rupert Giles was critically wounded while the Scooby Gang were on the run from the Knights of Byzantium. Ben was given safe passage to help them. He saved Giles life. But while there he turned into Glory who then stole Dawn and escaped with her.(“Spiral” [BTVS]).

Ben emerged later as the time to open the Dimensional Portal to Glorificus’s home dimension drew near and he tried to help Dawn escape. He got as far as Main Street with Dawn until Glory emerged. To make matters worse, Ben and Glory's minds were begining to merge, causing him to develop some of Glory's selfish personality traits, which was why it did not take much for Glory to persuade him into helping her in exchange for the promise of immortality. Ben agreed and took Dawn back.(“The Weight of the World” [BTVS]).

Following that Ben did not emerge much more, except when he tried to justify himself to Dawn only for her to demand he turn back into Glory. The next time he emerged proved to be Glory's undoing as it was in the midst of a fight with Buffy and even though she could not kill him, Giles stepped in and suffocated him, hoping that would forever end the threat of Glorificus.(“The Gift” [BTVS]).

Charlie Weber first appeared as Ben in the Buffy fifth season episode “Out of My Mind” (BTVS) and reprised his role in “No Place Like Home” (BTVS), “Family” (BTVS), “Shadow” (BTVS), “Listening to Fear” (BTVS), “Checkpoint” (BTVS), “Blood Ties” (BTVS), “Crush” (BTVS), “I Was Made to Love You” (BTVS), “Forever” (BTVS), “Tough Love” (BTVS), “Spiral” (BTVS), “The Weight of the World” (BTVS) and the finale “The Gift” (BTVS).
